Political discussions are expected to take place between Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The BJP believe that this is nothing but opportunistic politics.
Kerala: The countdown to the election result day, May 23 has begun and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is running helter-skelter to gather a non-BJP and non-Congress government at the Centre. In this regard, KCR is all set to meet Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday (May 6).
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief will meet Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram.
According to the Telangana Chief Minister's Office, the two leaders will discuss the latest political developments in the wake of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
KCR is also expected to visit Rameshwaram and Srirangam temples before returning to Hyderabad.
This will be KCR's first meeting with any leader of a non-BJP and non-Congress party since Lok Sabha elections began on April 10.
With the final three phases of polls to go before counting of votes on May 23, KCR is believed to be planning meetings with top leaders across parties, in a bid to form a government that doesn’t involve the BJP or Congress.
KCR, who mooted the idea of Federal Front, a consortium of regional parties in March last year, as an alternative to both the BJP and Congress, held talks with leaders of the Trinamool Congress, Biju Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal (S) and DMK. He also invited the YSRCP to join the proposed front.
KCR, on several occasions expressed that he is confident that a non-BJP and non-Congress parties would form the next government at the Centre.
TRS leaders hope that the Federal Front will take shape after the announcement of poll results.
MyNation spoke to BJP spokesperson, Krishna Saagar Rao who said that KCR’s move to meet Vijayan with the vision of Federal Front only highlights his delusionary vision.
“While fighting communists in Telangana and then trying to ally with them in Kerala only highlights the dubious and opportunistic politics of TRS,” said Rao.
