A Dalit girl, who is also a minor was raped by three men at Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh on September 21. Mohamman Nazim was arrested on the spot while two others had managed to escape. Today, the police have arrested second accused Mohammad Adil.
Kaushambi: The police have arrested the second accused in the Kaushambi gang rape case following an encounter. Accused Mohammad Adil alias Chhotka has been arrested.
Adil was trying to escape as soon as he got the news of police coming after him. He fired five shots at the police, injuring cop Rajendra Prasad. Adil was immediately shot in both the legs and was arrested, stated reports.
The police are yet to nab another accused named 'Badka' in the gang rape case that occurred in the Saray Akil police station limits.
A minor Dalit girl was raped by three men on September 21 at Ghosia village in Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh.
Reports claim that the minor girl was in Ghosia to collect fodder. But three men from the neighbouring village kidnapped and raped her. The accused allegedly recorded the video of sexual abuse.
On the day of the rape after the girl started screaming, first accused, Mohammad Nazim was caught and beaten up by villagers on the spot.
Currently, a reward of Rs 25,000 has been announced for help in the arrest of third accused Badka.
Reports also claim that a revolver and a motorcycle have been seized from the accused.
