Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has written another letter to the Centre (MEA) seeking permission to attend the inauguration of the Kartapur Corridor.
Bengaluru: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has written a second letter to the Centre, seeking its nod for him to attend the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor, to take place three days from now (November 9).
In his letter, he has said, "I humbly submit for the permission to cross over from the corridor on November 9 to be in time for the inauguration."
The leader also mentioned that he had been invited by Pakistan for the ceremony and has also submitted a copy of it.
Sidhu added that he would like to reach Pakistan early morning on November 9, visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib and then attend the corridor opening ceremony and return the same day.

The leader also added that he would reach Kartapur via the Wagah border on November 8 and come back the next day through the Kartarpur Corridor as he does not have a visa for Pakistan.
As stated earlier, this is Sidhu's second request to the ministry of external affairs in a week. On November 2, he had sought permission from the ministry to attend the inaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor in Pakistan.
Here are some excerpts from his letter.
"As a humble Sikh, it shall be a great honour to pay obeisance to our great Guru Baba Nanak on this historic occasion and connect to our roots. Therefore, I may be permitted to visit Pakistan for this auspicious occasion.”
Sidhu found himself in a lot of controversy as he, in August last year, attended the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan.
The corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district in Punjab and facilitate visa-free movement of Indian pilgrims, who will have to just obtain a permit to visit Kartarpur Sahib, which is located in Pakistan's Narowal district across the Ravi river.
