Karnataka minister Shivalli dies of cardiac arrest

Karnataka minister for municipal administration CS Shivalli suffered cardiac arrest, breathed his last in Hubballi
 

Hubballi: Karnataka minister for municipal administration, veteran Congress leader CS Shivalli breathed his last due to cardiac arrest, today.

57-year-old Shivalli of the Congress was admitted to the Line Hospital in Hubballi, Karnataka, after he complained of chest pain. He was admitted to the emergency ward, but failed to respond to the treatment and died in the hospital.

The sudden demise of the minister has shocked the Congress, family and relatives. Tight security including Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) has been deployed outside the hospital to maintain the law and order situation. Supporters of Shivalli have gathered outside the hospital in large numbers.

Shivalli had undergone bypass surgery recently. He had even visited the site of the accident where a building under construction collapsed in Dharwad. He was inspecting the place for a long time and had taken necessary steps to provide help to the families of the victims and the injured.

Shivalli was elected as an MLA three times from Kundagol. He was made a minister for the first time in the HD Kumaraswamy Cabinet.
