Over a thousand patients rushed to Mangaluru's Wenlock Hospital after several private hospital OPDs were shut down following the day-long strike by doctors on June 17
Mangaluru: Authorities of Wenlock Hospital have been accused of delaying treatment to patients by a man who shot a video of the wait that his friend had to endure at the hospital.
In the video, the man is heard questioning doctors and police staff on duty at Wenlock Hospital for the delay in treating his friend.
A youth who had sustained severe injuries after he met with an accident was brought to Wenlock Hospital on Monday (June 17) for medical treatment. Doctors administered first aid and asked the patient attendees to wait a while, stating that they had to handle other emergencies in the OPD.
This upset the accident victim’s friend, who decided to make a video to show the “hospital's negligence” in making the patient wait for a long time.
After the video went viral on social media, netizens refused to believe the man's claim and told him not to circulate “fake news” regarding the hospital or the doctors and said that the doctors also needed to attend to other patients as well.
Here's the video of the man allegedly claiming doctor's negligence in Wenlock Hospital.
Wenlock Hospital authorities have filed a complaint against the man, who tried to tamper the working condition of the hospital, at Pandeshwar Police Station. The case was filed under section 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), section 3 and 4 of Karnataka Prohibition of Violence Against Medicare Service Personnel and Damage to Property in Medicare Service Institutions Act, 2009.
