Karnataka coalition crisis live updates: CM Kumaraswamy adamant on adjourning trust vote till Wednesday

A fake resignation letter signed by none other than HD Kumaraswamy himself is making rounds. This was informed to the Speaker by the CM himself. He said the copy was being telecast on electronic media. 

After the House reconvened after 2 hours, Congress-JD(S) members create ruckus, demand adjournment of House 

Leaders from Congress-JD(S) prevail upon the Speaker to adjourn the trust vote till tomorrow 

SC will hear the plea filed by independent MLAs Shankar and Nagesh on Tuesday. 

Frustrated at the recalcitrant attitude of the coalition, Speaker Ramesh Kumar offered to resign. He is reported to have told the CM that it is not possible to adjourn the motion anymore.

CM HD Kumaraswamy refuses to attend session as he stays put in his room. He is adamant that the trust vote be pushed to Wednesday 

In view of the 2 independents approaching the SC over trust vote, CM HD Kumaraswamy says he can't prove his majority now. He wants the motion to adjourned till Wednesday 

If the Speaker does go ahead with the trust vote, coalition members are planning to do a walkout, thereby hampering the prospects of trust vote 

Assembly adjourned till 3 30 pm as MLAs break for lunch 

CLP leader Siddaramaiah had sought the Speaker’s ruling on the issue of issuing whip to disgruntled MLAs. At the beginning of the session, the Speaker gave his ruling, upholding a party’s right to issue whip 

As the Speaker was busy going through documents related to Supreme Court, he arrived an hour late to the session. 

It is learnt that Speaker Ramesh Kumar has expressed his displeasure over CM HD Kumaraswamy's request of adjournment of trust vote. He is reported to have said it is impossible to give more time for trust vote. 

As CM HD Kumaraswamy met Speaker Ramesh Kumar and sought two more days' time for the motion to be put to vote, Speaker Ramesh Kumar remains non-committal.

In view of the SC refusing to entertain pleas of independent MLAs Nagesh and Shankar, it is a sort of breather for the coalition government. Coalition may buy more time citing that the pleas are yet to be taken up by the top court

Independent MLAs Shankar and Nagesh, who had approached the SC seeking urgent hearing of their pleas in relation to the floor test are a disappointed lot as SC refuses to hear their pleas 

Speaker Ramesh Kumar hopes speeches will end soon and make way for trust vote. He said both the CM and the leader of Congress Legislature Party Siddaramaiah have told him that Monday would be the day for trust vote.
