From holding meetings to convincing rebel MLAs to withdraw resignations and possibilities of reverse operation, here are latest details on developments in Karnataka post resignation of MLAs.

Bengaluru: The resignation of 12 MLAs on July 6 and one MLA on July 1 has left the Karnataka coalition government on edge. From rebel MLAs shifting to a resort in Mumbai to continuous meetings held by the JD(S) and Congress, here are the latest developments in Karnataka.

According to reports, two MLAs; Muniratna and Anand Singh who had submitted their resignations but stayed back in Bengaluru instead of joining rebel leaders in a Mumbai resort, will travel to Mumbai today.

Another MLA, Ramalinga Reddy (veteran Congress leader), who had quit, has refused to go to Mumbai, but is adamant that he will not withdraw his resignation.

Meanwhile, chief minister of Karnataka, who arrived in Bengaluru yesterday (July 7) from the US is said to have met Ramalinga Reddy at an undisclosed location.

Reports also claim that more MLAs are set to resign from their posts. As the MLAs had said earlier, their decision will depend on what Ramalinga Reddy says. The Congress and JD(S) are trying to convince Reddy to withdraw his resignation. If he decides not to budge, then his daughter, Sowmya Reddy, who is a newly elected MLA from Jayanagar, is also likely to quit.

Apart from the 13 MLAs who have already resigned, MLAs Nagendra, Bheema Naik and Venkat Ramaiah are likely to tender their resignations. Though Karnataka Congress in-charge KC Venugopal has held talks with these leaders, their decision is still awaited.

Another report claims that Sports minister Raheem Khan and two MLAs from JD(S) are not reachable.

Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara has invited all remaining party MLAs to his residence to hold talks.

Currently, the coalition government has agreed to a Cabinet reshuffle and top ministers including deputy chief minister G Parameshwara might lose his position to accommodate rebel leaders.

Meanwhile, sources claim that the BJP has booked rooms at Ramada Hotel in Doddaballapur, on the outskirts of Bengaluru and is likely to shift its MLAs to avert poaching by the Congress and JD(S).

Congress and JD(S) leaders are holding meetings in an attempt to save the government from falling apart and the BJP is holding meetings to prepare to form government if they are called to do so.
