Kamlesh Tiwari murder: Man detained in Hubbali by Internal Security Division

The Karnataka Police detained a man from Hubbali for his alleged links with the murder of Kamlesh Tiwari. The Internal Security Division of the Karnataka Police picked him up for questioning and is being questioned in Bengaluru. 

Bengaluru: A man from Hubbali has been detained by the Karnataka Police in connection with Kamlesh Tiwari murder case. Police sources said that the suspect, identified as Sadiq Kuppelur was picked up from Hubbali by the Internal Security Division. 

According to police, Sadiq Kuppelur is banned member of the terror outfit SIMI.  He is currently in Bangalore and is being quizzed by ISD.

Kamlesh Tiwari, a right-wing Hindu leader, was shot dead in Lucknow on Friday. The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested three people in the case so far. The accused have now been sent to a 14-day judicial custody. 

Soon after Tiwari's murder, the Anti-Terror Squad wing of the Gujarat Police had claimed that Kamlesh Tiwari was killed by the Islamic State and he had been on IS' radar for past few years.

The Kamlesh Tiwari murder case has triggered a political controversy in Uttar Pradesh with his family blaming the state government for repeatedly denying him adequate security cover despite multiple requests.
