Tabrez was allegedly lynched by a mob. His family claimed that he was forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Jharkhand minister CP Singh said politicising the issue was wrong.

Saraikela Kharsawan: Reacting to news of mob lynching in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand minister CP Singh said that it is wrong to politicise such incidents. He promised to order a  probe into the case.

Singh was speaking after reports connected the BJP, RSS and the VHP to the lynching case. Speaking to ANI, the minister said,  "The trend prevalent these days is to associate such incidents with BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal. It's a time of cut and paste, who fits what words where is difficult to say. The government will conduct an investigation. Politicising such incidents are wrong."

AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi had slammed the BJP and the RSS and accused the party of creating a sense of hatred towards Muslims.

"Incidents of mob lynching are not going to stop because BJP and RSS have increased a sense of hatred against the Muslims. They have successfully created a mindset where Muslims are seen as terrorists, anti-nationals and cow slaughters," he told ANI.

Reacting to the lynching case, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad had said, "Jharkhand has become a factory of lynching and violence. Dalits and Muslims are killed there every week. PM, we are with you in the fight of 'sabka saath sabka vikas', but it should be there for people to see it. We can't see it anywhere."

These comments were the result of a case where 22-year-old Tabrez, died on Sunday. He was allegedly beaten up by a mob and later arrested on suspicion of theft here in Saraikela Kharsawan district near Jamshedpur on June 18.

The injured man was admitted to Sadar hospital and then shifted to Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur for further treatment. But he failed to respond to treatment and died in the hospital on June 22.

The issue took a political turn when victim's family alleged that he was forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Jai Hanuman', before getting beaten up.

Tabrez's family demanded capital punishment for the culprits.
