Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address rallies in Khunti and Jamshedpur districts in the poll-bound state where campaigns are on in full swing
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will, on Tuesday (December 3), address rallies in Khunti and Jamshedpur districts in poll-bound Jharkhand.
The five-phase elections to the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly began on November 30 and will end on December 20. Counting of votes will take place on December 23.
On December 2, campaigning for the second and third phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections intensified, and candidates are raising issues of unemployment, terrorism, Naxalism and unprecedented hike in onion prices.
Prakash Das, a candidate from the People's Party of India and contesting from Bokaro constituency, held a copy of the Constitution during the campaign.
"Naxalism, terrorism and unemployment have been on the rise in the country. If the Constitution were enforced properly, this situation would not have arisen. Therefore, our mission is the absolute enforcement of the Constitution," he said.
While campaigning, another candidate Venkatesh Sharma, wearing an onion garland highlighted the issue of the rising price of onions.
"The price of onions has been rapidly rising in various parts of the state. People are unable to afford onions. Therefore, I aim to decrease the prices of onions in the state once I am elected," he said.
In total, 20 Assembly constituencies are going to polls in the second phase on December 7.
On Monday, BJP national president and Union home minister Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Jamshedpur.
