Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (November 25) addressed a gathering at Daltonganj, Palamu in Jharkhand, while he was campaigning for the BJP candidate.

Palamu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (November 25) slammed the Congress party while he was campaigning in poll-bound Jharkhand, for being the reason for delays in the Ayodhya verdict.

Addressing the gathering at Daltonganj, PM Modi said, "Congress stalled the matter of dispute over the birthplace of Lord Ram. Had they wanted, a solution could have been found earlier. But they did not do that. They only cared about their vote bank. Such thinking of the Congress has affected the entire country."

The Prime Minister stressed on how Naxalism was an issue due to political instability. "Governments used to get toppled here, they did not want to serve people but simply wanted to enjoy power. How could there have been proper roads, industries and electricity, given the situation which was here."

PM Modi further said that the present Jharkhand government worked day and night to end corruption and bring safety to all in the last five years.

Jharkhand will go to polls in five phases, the first of which will be held on November 30, the second phase on December 6, the third phase on December 12, the fourth phase on December 16 and the last phase on December 20.

The Congress has forged an alliance with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the state to take on the BJP.

In 2014 Jharkhand Assembly election, the BJP won 43 seats and formed the government along with All Jharkhand Students' Union (AJSU) under the leadership of Raghubar Das.
