AICC chief Sonia Gandhi has hit out at BJP for the Delhi violence that has been going on. Meanwhile, the BJP has urged the Congress not politicise the issue.
Bengaluru: Delhi is going through one of the worst crises. The riots in the national capital have killed 20 and injured more than a hundred people.
While the whole nation joins in to condemn the violence and criticise the vandals, arsonists, hate mongers and antisocial elements and even urges for restraint and peace to be restored, the Congress party has resorted to dirty tricks.
In her speech in relation to the riots, AICC chief Sonia Gandhi has held BJP responsible for the gruesome deaths and thuggery in the region. She also sought the home minister’s resignation.
She said, “The Home Minister should resign. Their inaction is the reason why Delhi is suffering today."
Though the Congress party has every right to criticise the government over its inept handling of the situation, it is cheap and rank deplorable that politics has to be played out when you need hands that give succour and words that give solace.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, a senior BJP leader hit back at Sonia Gandhi, saying, “Congress should stop playing politics.”
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed for peace and harmony.
He said, “Peace and harmony are central to our ethos. I appeal to my sisters and brothers of Delhi to maintain peace and brotherhood at all times. It is important that there is calm and normalcy is restored at the earliest.”
Before this, he had also said he had held an extensive review on the situation.
He tweeted: “Had an extensive review on the situation prevailing in various parts of Delhi. Police and other agencies are working on the ground to ensure peace and normalcy.”
The Delhi riots, as the BJP claims, have been orchestrated and timed to suit President Donald Trump’s visit to India. He was on a 36-hour visit to India. But he refused to talk about the riots during his presser.
