Indian battalion, 9 Dogra Infantry group wins ‘Head of the mission & Force commander unit appreciation' award

Indian battalion, 9 Dogra Infantry group, stationed in Lebanon under the United Nations Interim Forces In Lebanon (UNIFL) Programme, has been awarded the coveted 'Head of the mission and Force commander unit appreciation' award
 

Bengaluru:  The Indian battalion, 9 Dogra Infantry group, stationed in Lebanon under the United Nations Interim Forces In Lebanon (UNIFL) Programme, has been awarded the coveted 'Head of the mission and Force commander unit appreciation' award, as reported by Swarajya. 

The award is an acknowledgement of its model contributions in the peacekeeping activities in South Lebanon.

An announcement was given out in this regard by Indian Embassy. 

The mission in Lebanon has been stationed since March 1978 to confirm the withdrawal of Israel from Lebanon. Currently around 10,000 troops from 45 countries are posted in the mission, of which 762 are Indian, while Indonesia is the largest contingent with more than 1200 soldiers according to the peacekeeping website.
