Indian Army resurrects grave of fallen Pakistani officer, proves why it commands immense respect

 In a heart-warming gesture, the Chinar Corps informed: "In keeping with the traditions & ethos of the Indian Army, Chinar Corps resuscitated a damaged grave of Major Mohd Shabir Khan, Sitara-e-Jurrat, Pakistan Army, who was Killed in Action (KIA) at a forward location along LC in Naugam Sector on 05 May 1972."

Bengaluru: Indian Army once again showed why it commands immense respect around the world when it restored the grave of a Pakistani officer who was killed in the Nowgam sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a heart-warming gesture, the Chinar Corps informed: "In keeping with the traditions & ethos of the Indian Army, Chinar Corps resuscitated a damaged grave of Major Mohd Shabir Khan, Sitara-e-Jurrat, Pakistan Army, who was Killed in Action (KIA) at a forward location along LC in Naugam Sector on 05 May 1972."

The Army also posted a photograph  of the epitaph on the grave of the Pakistani officer, which read: ''In memory of Major Mohd Shabir Khan, Sitar-e-Jurrat Shahid 05 May 1972, 1630 H, killed in counter attack by 9 Sikh''.

"A fallen soldier, irrespective to the country he belongs to, deserves respect & honour in death. Indian Army stands with this belief. This is Indian Army for the world," the Chinar Corps said in another post.

This is not the first time that the Indian Army has shown such a heart-warming gesture.

A month ago, Indian Army rescued three Chinese citizens who had lost their way at an altitude of 17,500 feet in North Sikkim despite a border standoff with China.
