Launching the Johar Jan Ashirvad Yatra to be undertaken by CM Raghubar Das, Union home minister and BJP national president urged voters to give BJP another chance.

Bengaluru: Union home minister Amit Shah was in Jamtara, Jharkhand earlier today (September 18). He inaugurated the Johar Jan Ashirvad Yatra.

The yatra, which will be undertaken by the chief minister Raghubar Das will cover a distance of 581 kilometres in seven days. The chief minister is expected to address public gatherings.

The state will go to assembly polls later this year.

Addressing a huge rally, Amit Shah thundered, “With the decision to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved what no one else could achieve. But people like Rahul Gandhi don’t approve of this. I want to know why he thinks like this.”

The BJP national president also promised to deliver more if the BJP is elected back to power and urged the voters to give another chance for the BJP.

He said, “We want to do a lot for the people of Jharkhand. We want to make it progressive. I want to appeal to the people. You made Modi the Prime Minister, you made Raghubar Das Das, the chief minister. Give him him 5 more years. Will you make lotus blossom in every house? Will you bless the Prime Minister and the chief minister?”

In the last assembly elections, the BJP stormed to power by winning 43 seats, while Jharkhand Mukti Morcha came second with a tally of 19 seats.

The state has 82 seats.

Along with Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Haryana will also go to polls later this year.

The EC will be announcing the dates in the next week or so.

Interestingly, in all the three states, the BJP is in power and will look to continue the dream run. But for the Congress, it will be a herculean task to take on the BJP. The grand old party, however, had beaten the BJP in three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the last assembly elections.
