New Delhi: A massive tragedy was averted after an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft overran a runway while departing from Mumbai Airport.
An IAF AN-32 overran runway 27 while departing from Mumbai Airport for Yelahanka Air Force Station near Bengaluru, Karnataka. The incident happened at 11.39 PM on Monday. No injuries have been reported.
Runway 27 at Mumbai Airport which the aircraft overran isn't available for operations. The secondary runway 32 is being used since the incident.

The aircraft is primarily used to transport cargo over long and short distances and it also helps in firefighting and medical emergencies.
