Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on BJP president Amit Shah. The Trinamool chief reportedly asked whether Shah is any God that no one can protest against him.

Kolkata: With the Trinamool and the BJP at loggerheads, the political slugfest in Bengal seems far away from getting over, especially after Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent statement.

Banerjee on Wednesday reportedly said, “You guys are lucky that I am sitting here calm. Otherwise, I can capture the BJP headquarter in Delhi and your houses in one second".

Not only this, but Banerjee also launched a scathing attack on BJP president Amit Shah. The Trinamool chief reportedly asked whether Amit Shah is any God that no one can protest against him.

This remark came in context with Tuesday’s violence that allegedly started with TMC workers trying to show black flag to Shah.

The BJP claimed that the protest was started by the TMC from inside the Vidyasagar College, which has become the nucleus of the violence. The BJP also released a set of images to substantiate its claim. During the violence, a bust of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, one of the key figures of Bengali Renaissance, was dismantled by unidentified miscreants.

While BJP pointed fingers at the Trinamool, Banerjee blamed the BJP of the same and called  Shah 'uncivil'.
