Hurun India Rich List 2024: Mumbai ranks 3rd globally in billionaires; Check top 10 Indian cities

According to the Hurun List 2024, Mumbai has become the city with the most billionaires in Asia, surpassing Beijing and ranking third globally. Mumbai tops the list of the top 10 richest cities in India with 386 billionaires.

Mumbai, known as India's financial capital, has emerged as the billionaire capital of Asia. It is home to more billionaires than Beijing, China. Mumbai ranks third globally, with New York in first place and London in second.

The Hurun List 2024 data states that 25% of the world's billionaires live in Mumbai. This year, the city has seen an increase of 58 billionaires, bringing the total number to 386. Delhi ranks second after Mumbai, with 18 new billionaires added this year, bringing the total number of wealthy individuals on the list to 217. Hyderabad has secured the third position for the first time, surpassing Bengaluru in terms of billionaire residents, with 104 billionaires. Bengaluru is home to 100 billionaires.

Mumbai's billionaires

Hurun Rich List 2024 states that Mumbai has surpassed Beijing to become the "hub of Asia's billionaires." Mumbai now has 92 resident billionaires compared to Beijing's 91. Mumbai added 26 new wealthy people to the club, with a combined wealth of $445 billion. Meanwhile, the Chinese capital saw a decline in the wealth of 18 billionaires.

Youngest billionaire

Previously, Razorpay founders Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar were the youngest billionaires on the list, both aged 33. Now, the youngest billionaire on the rich list is Zepto's 21-year-old Kaivalya Vohra. Zepto's co-founder Aadit Palicha (age 22) is the second youngest. This year, the Hurun Rich List features 1,539 individuals with a net worth of Rs 1,000 crore or more, adding 272 names to the total list.
