Bengaluru: With just days left for Haryana to go to polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the state to address an election rallies.

He used the opportunity to hit out at the Congress, questioning it over its opposition to the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.

He said, “Congress leaders should answer to the families of soldiers who were protecting the innocent people of J&K and were killed by terrorists while doing so. They should answer to the mothers of those brave soldiers why is Article 370 so dear to them.”

Staying with the abrogation, he challenged the Congress to reinstate the abrogated Articles.

He said, “Those who are criticising the government should come clean and tell people of Haryana whether they will bring back Article 370 and 35A if they come back to power.”

The PM also went back in time to remind the Congress of how it mocked the BJP and wondered who the captain for the state would be.

He said, “I remember, 5 years back when I spoke of forming government in Haryana, opposition repeatedly asked me about our captain. You've seen the captain & a strong team in 5 yrs. Those who used to question me then are desperately trying to keep their leadership together.”

The Prime Minister also took a dig at the Congress for the Rafale deal.

He said, “What was the hype he created during the Lok Sabha elections regarding the Rafale plane. These people had given full emphasis that this aircraft agreement should be cancelled, new fighter aircraft should not come in India. But despite all the efforts of these people, the first Rafale aircraft has been handed over to India.”

Haryana will go to polls on October 21. The result will be out on October 24. The Haryana Assembly has 90 seats.
