PM Narendra Modi extolled poll-bound Haryana for helping realise his dream of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. He campaigned in Charkhi Dadri, where Babita Phogat is contesting and also in Kurukshetra
Bengaluru: On his second straight day of campaigning in the poll-bound Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used to occasion to eulogise the state for realising his dreams of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
Incidentally, the Prime Minister was speaking at Charkhi Dadri, the constituency from which Babita Phogat is being fielded on a BJP ticket.
With the festival of lights Diwali round the corner, the PM used it as an occasion to highlight the achievements of women.

He said, “We will have two types of Diwali this time. A ‘diya’ (earthen lamp) Diwali, and a ‘kamal’ (lotus) Diwali. We should dedicate this Diwali to our daughters and celebrate their achievements. This Diwali should be in name of our daughters.”
The Prime Minister informed the voters the Chinese president Xi Jinping had for the movie Dangal.
He said, “Recently China’s President and I met for an informal meeting. He told me that he saw ‘Dangal’ movie which showcased excellent performance of daughters of India. I felt really proud of Haryana hearing the Chinese president say that.”
The Prime Minister also addressed another rally in Kurukshetra.
He took this occasion to drive home the point that his government had done everything to help secure our borders.
He said, “On Dussehra, 1st Rafale fighter jet was handed over to India in France. Didn't it bring happiness to you? We are proud & happy that our country is becoming stronger but I don't know why Congress turns negative whenever the entire country is happy.”
Apart from his commitment to secure borders and modernise the defence forces, the Prime Minister also promised that his government in Haryana would work towards doubling of farmers’ incomes and expressed happiness at the quick completion of Kartarpur Corridor.
Taking a dig at the Congress, he added that Congress suffered from a lot of negativity.
