Train enthusiasts would know that the Palace on Wheels is recognized as India’s first luxury tourist train. It was first introduced on 26 January 1982 by the Indian Railways as a collaborative project with Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC). Today, the Palace on Wheels has been renamed as Heritage Palace on Wheels.

Recognizing the trend of destination weddings in Rajasthan, the government has launched a distinct project to boost the tourism in the state. The couples can now opt to plan their weddings and pre- or post-wedding photo shoots on the enigmatic Palace on Wheels. The Rajasthan Government is all set to offer a unique wedding experience aboard this prestigious train.

Facilities
Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari highlights the significance of embarking on this exciting project. The decision to offer these services was made by the Rajasthan Tourism Department Corporation (RTDC) which is being seen as an innovative initiative. The Palace on Wheels boasts all the amenities found in a five-star hotel including a spa, parlour, and gyms. Through a travel journey from Agra to Bharatpur, it offers an unforgettable experience to the travellers. The Railways is soon expected to unveil the prices for destination weddings and various types of photoshoots on the Palace on Wheels.
