German woman goes missing in Kerala; probe begins

 Wiese Lisa's mother said her daughter left Germany on March 5 and arrived in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on March 7. Lisa had to visit Mata Amrithapuri ashram in Kollam. Her visa was supposed to expire on May 5. As she didn't come back to Germany, her mother got suspicious and filed a missing case.
 

Thiruvananthapuram: A 31-year-old German woman, who reached Kerala three months ago, has gone missing. Thiruvananthapuram Police have begun the investigation after the missing woman's mother registered a case. 

Missing Wiese Lisa's mother had registered a complaint in Germany and it got forwarded to the German consulate and the case was sent to state police chief Loknath Behera on Sunday. 

According to Wiese Lisa's mother, Lisa left Germany on March 5 and arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on March 7. Lisa had to visit Mata Amrithapuri ashram in Kollam. Her visa was supposed to expire on May 5 too. As she didn't come back to Germany, her mother got suspicious and filed the missing case.

The report says Lisa was accompanied by a UK citizen, identified as Muhammed Ali, who also arrived in the same flight, but had concluded his visit on March 15.

In a similar incident, a Latvian woman Liga Skromane, who lived in Ireland with her partner Andrew Jorda,n had come to Kerala with her sister to get Ayurvedic treatment for depression a year ago. While undergoing Ayurvedic treatment at Pothencode, Thiruvananthapuram, she went missing and was killed in Kerala on March 14 last year.

The accused in the case Umesh and Udayan, who had approached the woman, pretending to be tourist guides, have allegedly confessed that the murder was committed amidst an attempt to rape. The statement by the culprits that were recorded earlier mentioned that they had physical relation with Liga after drugging her, but later killed her as she resisted it. The duo fled the scene after hanging her from a tree to make it look like a suicide.
