Nepal’s ministry of foreign affairs has issued a clarification over PM Oli’s remarks on Ayodhya

Bengaluru: Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli made a statement in relation to Ayodhya which had hurt and humiliated Indians.

He had said, “Real Ayodhya lies in Nepal, not in India. Lord Ram is Nepali not Indian. Although the real Ayodhya lies at Thori in the west of Birgunj, India have claimed the Indian site as the birthplace of Lord Ram.”

Now, the Nepal foreign ministry has jumped to issue a clarification. It said, “The Prime Minister was simply highlighting the importance of further studies and research of the vast cultural geography the Ramayana represents to obtain facts about Shri Ram, Ramayana and the various places linked to this rich civilization.”

More on the clarification:

The PM did not mean to debase the significance and cultural values of Ayodhya. The festival “Bibaha Panchami” is celebrated in Nepal and India in which a marriage possession comes from Ayodhya, India, to Janakpur, Nepal, every year. In May 2018, the Prime Ministers of Nepal and India launched the Ramayana Circuit. Janakpur-Ayodhya bus service is an integral part of the initiative.

Oli has hampered India-Nepal relationship

Nepal PM Oli has harmed the harmonious India-Nepal relationship as he decided to amend a map legalising the usurping of three Indian territories of Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura

Oli has been making such incendiary remarks, with an eye to put down India.

Many speculate that Oli is acting on the whims and fancies of China, but he is facing a lot of heat from his own party members and economists.

Nepali economist Dr Posh Raj Pandey had said, "Nepal-India relations should not be allowed to damage and there is a need for early negotiations and a dialogue to resolve the issue at the earliest".

While Oli keeps committing such blunders, China has entered Nepal as well, by usurping its territories of Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura.

While many speculate Oli is dancing to the tunes of China, Nepal has lost its own territories.

"In a massive departure from its diplomatic stand of non-interference, the Chinese have completely occupied Rui Village and the residents comprising around 72 houses are fighting for their original identity. This also shows how Nepal's current regime has surrendered to China and is now making anti-India statements and resorting to anti-India activities,” a website had quoted then.
