After opposing the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya tooth and nail over these years, Congress has now softened its stance, with its members putting out tweets in support of the bhumi pujan

Bengaluru: After being exposed threadbare for its opposition to the construction of the Ram temple, Congress’s members, slowly but surely, are changing their stance over the issue.

Just a day (August 4) before  the historic bhumi pujan to be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the temple city of Ayodhya, Priyanka Gandhi, a senior Congress leader, put out a tweet saying, “Simplicity, courage, restraint, sacrifice, commitment, are the essence of the name Deenbandhu Rama. Ram is in everyone, Ram is with everyone. With the message and grace of Lord Rama and Mother Sita, the Bhoomipujan ceremony of the temple of Ramlala became an occasion for national unity, fraternity and cultural congregation.”

In another development, the twitter handle of Madhya Pradesh Congress changed its profile picture with an image of Lord Hanuman and Kamal Nath.

Interestingly, another senior Congress leader Manish Tewari put out a tweet, in which he sung a Hindu devotional song which was close to Mahatma Gandhi’s heart.

भगवान रामचन्द्र जी महाराज के भूमी पूजन के शुभ अफसर पर सब वैष्णव जनो और महनुभवों को कोटी कोटी बधाई pic.twitter.com/R00cfIWwu0

But he was criticised by a few netizens for his stance supporting the construction of the temple, while some others ridiculed him for posting manipulated lyrics of the song.

Well, there is a palpable change in the stance of the Congress as it extends its support to the construction of the Ram temple, and as quoted by Priyanka Gandhi “temple of Ramlala became an occasion for national unity, fraternity and cultural congregation”.

But the big question is: Why did the Congress oppose the temple construction tooth and nail in all these years? In fact, it even questioned the existence of Lord Ram in the top court of the country and one of its senior leaders Shashi Tharoor even said “No good Hindu would want to see a Ram temple built by demolishing somebody else’s place of worship.”

With such hypocrisy exhibited the Congress, aware and knowledgeable citizens of the country will never pardon it.
