Digvijaya Singh has compared the protests in Jamia Millia with the Godhra riots in 2002.

Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh is a man who loves to hate PM Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah specifically and Hindus in general.

Now, he has set his tongue wagging again in the backdrop of what seem to be orchestrated anti-CAA and anti-NRC protests.

He compared the protests in Jamia Millia to the Godhra riots in 2002.

He said, “No Muslim can ever trust both Modi and Shah after the 2002 Gujarat riots. Muslims have lost trust in Modi and Shah.”

Though Digvijaya Singh nit-picked on crimes committed against Muslims, he completely forgot that the riots were triggered by the deaths of 59 Kar Sevaks while they were returning from Ayodhya.

The protests in Jamia Millia university took an ugly turn as there were reports of arson and vandalism, creating widespread damages. The police were forced to crack down on the lumpen elements with a view to restoring normalcy.

While Digvijaya Singh compares these two absolutely unrelated items to instigate and appease Muslims, MyNation asks Digvijay Singh as to why he has completely forgotten 1984 anti-Sikh riots, in which former PM Rajiv Gandhi had said, “If a big tree falls, the earth is bound to shake.”

MyNation further asks him if Muslims don’t trust Modi, how many Hindus trust the Congress and uphold its integrity when it comes to safeguarding the interests of Hindus?

Shreenath Sheshadri, a BJP spokersperson said, “They are disappointed as people will realise what NRC and CAA are. The north east has become peaceful now. The vandals who created unrest will all be arrested. If this is their approach, should Hindus trust Congress will be an issue. It is nothing else but vote bank politics. They are so politically immature.”

PM Modi has always reiterated that the CAA affects only religiously persecuted non-Hindus from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
