Indeed a big day in investigation related to Delhi riots as the top bosses of PFI were arrested, killers of constable Ratan Lal arrested and home minister Amit Shah saying offenders will be punished irrespective of their religion.
Bengaluru: It’s a big day in relation to the investigation of the Delhi riots that killed more than 50 people and injured more than a hundred.
In the early hours, the office-bearers of PFI, president Mohammad Parvez Ahmed and secretary Mohammad Ilyas, were on Thursday arrested for questioning, sources in the Delhi Police said. The two members of the PFI were reportedly taken into custody on charges of hatching a conspiracy to incite riots in northeast Delhi, as reported by ANI.

It is also pertinent to note that seven people have been arrested in relation to the death of police constable Ratan Lal in the Delhi riots.
Meanwhile, Union home minister Amit Shah was at his fiery best in Rajya Sabha.
He said, "Those responsible for riots irrespective of their political, religious affiliation will be brought to book. We had information prior to Feb 24 that foreign money had been distributed; 5 persons have been arrested for the crime. More than 40 special teams constituted to arrest those identified for Delhi communal riots. 50 serious cases of murder, attacks on religious places, hospitals, and educational institutions being handed over to 3 SITs.”
Shah also informed the house that a total of 1922 Delhi rioters have been identified.
He also stressed that the government would not discriminate people based on caste and religion.
"There will be no discrimination based on religion or caste. The government is committed to a scientific and impartial investigation,” he added.
He also assured the house that CAA would not be used against Muslims.
He said, “I want to assure nation that nothing will be done to give any relief to any guilty of Delhi riots. Hate speeches started after CAA came; Muslims being mislead, no one's citizenship is being taken away.”
The home minister also touched upon the issue of Justice Muralidhar being transferred and added that they government had acted as per the suggestions of the Supreme Court collegium.
