While the Delhi Assembly election is scheduled to be held on February 8, BJP leaders Amit Shah and JP Nadda are in full swing holding door-to-door campaigns in the national capital

New Delhi: Union home minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda will be addressing three public rallies in the national capital on Friday (January 24). This initiative by the BJP comes while polling dates are inching closer and campaigns for Assembly elections are intensifying in Delhi.

Shah will address rallies in Mustafabad, Karawal Nagar and Gokulpuri areas of Delhi.

BJP president JP Nadda will also hold two public rallies in Laxmi Nagar and Viswas Nagar areas of East Delhi.

On the other side, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal will be leading a roadshow in the national capital to seek votes for the AAP candidate.

Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia will also address a public rally in support of the party's Dwarka Assembly constituency candidate.

Delhi Congress leaders have also planned different door-to-door campaigns and public meetings to reach out to voters as part of an ongoing poll campaign.

On Thursday, home minister Amit Shah accused Congress and AAP of provoking the youth and the main minority community to cause "riots" in the national capital during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He further said that Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal had spoken in favour of those who had raised anti-India slogans on the JNU campus two years ago.

Shah also alleged that the people in the national capital were getting "the worst quality of water" in the country and claimed that the AAP government had not implemented Ayushman Bharat Scheme so that the poor do not vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The home minister had also said that the tricolour was touching the sky in Kashmir after the revocation of Article 370.

"Congress used to say if the Article is removed, there will be rivers of blood. Nothing of the sort happened, and Kashmir became an integral part of India," he said.

Delhi goes to polls on February 8. The counting of votes will take place on February 11.
