Udhampur: A CRPF constable killed three other cops in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, just a few hours before the Holi celebrations started.
The shocking incident was reported from the camp of 187 battalion in Udhampur. The accused constable, identified as Ajit Kumar, tried to shoot himself after killing the others.
The deceased have been identified as head constable Pokarmal of Rajasthan, head constable Yogender Sharma of Delhi and head constable Umeed Singh of Haryana.
Initial investigation revealed that the four jawans had argument, following which Kumar shot them with his service rifle.
A CRPF official deployed in the battalion told MyNation, "The incident took place inside the camp area. We initially thought that some terrorists attack has happened after hearing multiple rounds of gun fire. When other CRPF jawans went to the spot, they found four jawans lying on the floor. One of them was carrying a rifle.”
Kumar, who was grievously injured, was rushed to the hospital. Currently, he is on life support.
A case under section 302 pf the IPC has been registered with the police. The authorities have also collected evidence from the crime scene. However, the motive behind the attack will only be established after recording the statement of the accused.
