As the pandemic numbers rise in Uttar Pradesh, the government has decided to use the services of retired doctors, retired personnel of the armed forces and para-medical staff
Bengaluru: India is waging a war against the second wave of the corona pandemic. As it faces a dearth of oxygen and hospitals beds and the number of deaths increases, the country is fighting as one entity.
Now, to increase the efforts, Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh has decided to take the help of retired doctors, retired personnel of the armed forces and para-medical staff.
This move will increase the manpower in the hospitals currently grappling with the coronavirus scourge.
“Many of those who had emerged victorious in the battle against COVID-19 are willing to serve the patients. In this context, in order to increase the manpower at hospitals, experiences of retired doctors, lab technicians and para-medical staff along with retired personnel of the armed forces can be availed,” Yogi said at a virtual high-level review meeting.
Yogi has also instructed officials to double the number of beds in all districts and has issued further clarification that tele-consultancy should be used more effectively in dealing with the pandemic.
Taiwan extends help:
Meanwhile, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen on Tuesday (27 April) expressed solidarity with India over the Covid-19 situation in the country and said that the east Asian island nation is ready to provide help to New Delhi.
In a tweet, the Taiwanese President said that Taiwan "stands with India in this difficult time".
"On behalf of all Taiwanese people, I would like to express my serious concern over the rapid spread of COVID-19 in India. Taiwan stands with India in this difficult time, & we are ready to provide help," President Tsai Ing-wen said.
