Congress posted a US Navy ship picture to wish the Indian Navy personnel. When trolled, the party deleted the picture instead of an apology
Congress became a laughing stock yet again as it shared a picture of a US Navy ship to wish the Navy on the occasion of the Indian Navy Day on Wednesday (December 4). Twitterati found the original source of the photo and took Congress to task.
As memes started flowing, criticising the Congress, the official handle of the party deleted the tweet and posted another photo of the Indian Navy with the same message: "As we celebrate #IndianNavyDay, we honour the brave personnel who put everything aside to protect our motherland. It is their sacrifice that makes us all feel safe at home. Jai Hind."
Earlier, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was criticised for sharing a wrong photo with a wrong caption in September this year.
"Nehru & India (not Indira) Gandhi in the US in 1954," stated Tharoor's caption. But the photo he shared was Indira Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru visiting Moscow.
