AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ayodhya saying secularism is part of the basic structure of the Constitution

Bengaluru: Even months after the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Hindus in relation to the Babri masjid issue, leaders like AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi continue to pour out their anger.

He said, "We can’t forget that for over 400 years Babri stood in Ayodhya & it was demolished by a criminal mob in 1992.”

In an interview with Outlook magazine, Owaisi said, "Babri Masjid is a mosque and it will always remain as one. This is my faith. That cannot be taken away from me or anyone. Had the masjid not been demolished on 6 December 1992, I don’t think this judgment would have come."

He has also questioned the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his official capacity as the PM.

Meanwhile, Republic TV quoted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asking all temples in Ayodhya to carry out special cleaning of their premises and light lamps on August 4 and 5 to celebrate the beginning of the construction of a grand temple of Lord Ram.

Well, there have been consistent efforts by the anti-Hindu lobby to somehow stymie and scuttle the process. A petition was filed at the Allahabad high court to cancel the event.

When the Supreme Court decreed in favour of Hindus last year, it brought to an end, a dispute that is almost five centuries old. Just like others have their holy places, Hindus too have Ayodhya as their holy place. Why should anyone play spoilsport when millions of Hindus are waiting with bated breath to see a grand temple at Ayodhya?

Apart from PM Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, LK Advani, Yogi Adityanath and Uddhav Thackeray will also be in attendance.

News reports add that not more than 200 guests have been invited, with special emphasis on social distancing.

Interestingly, Prince Habeebuddin Tucy, a sixth-generation descendant of Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar, has got a gold brick made for the construction, as reported by Times of India.

The one kg gold brick has cost him Rs 1.80 crore and he got it made in Delhi one-and-a-half months ago.
