VHP had planned to hold Ekal Kumbh from November 15 to 17 in Lucknow. The training for Durga Vahini was planned from November 4 to November 14. But as Ayodhya Verdict is expected on or before November 17, the events have been cancelled to avert untoward incidents.
Ayodhya: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has cancelled two important programmes following the fact that Ayodhya verdict will be out soon, most likely on November 17.
The VHP wants to make sure that no untoward incident occurs during the event planned by them as the day of verdict can turn violent.
The Ekal Kumbh is the annual conference of volunteers belonging to the VHP and organisations affiliated to the RSS. These volunteers are from Ekal Vidyalaya functioning in different parts of the country, including in the remote forest and tribal-dominated areas.
The Ekal Kumbh was planned from November 15 to 17 in Lucknow and at least 1 lakh volunteers were expected to take part in it.
As the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ranjan Gogoi completes his term on November 17, it is expected that the verdict will be out by that day. Thus, as the dates of the Ekal Kumbh clashes with the likely date of the verdict, the event has been cancelled.
Another event to be cancelled by the VHP is the 10-day training camp for women's wing called Durga Vahini. This training was scheduled to be held from November 4 to November 14.
