The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up eight different jails in the Ambedkar Nagar district.

Bengaluru: As the nation waits with bated breath for the all-important Ayodhya verdict, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up eight different jails in the Ambedkar Nagar district.
The district school inspector has directed the head of three colleges in the district to provide the buildings and other necessary equipment to the police station heads.

With a view to maintaining harmony in the wake of the verdict, top RSS functionaries and BJP leaders met with Muslim clerics at the residence of Union minister for minority affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi to give a clarion call to maintain peace.

Elaborate deployment of security forces and confidence-building measures have been put in place.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too has urged his ministers not to speak unnecessarily on the issue, which may lead to unnecessary complications.
At a meeting with the council of ministers, Modi stressed that it was everyone’s responsibility to maintain harmony in the country.

Section 144 will be in place till December 10.

Not just in the meeting, the Prime Minister also urged everyone to maintain peace and harmony in his monthly Mann Ki Baat programme.
He had also recalled how political parties and civil society prevented attempts to create fissures when the Allahabad high court ruling on the disputed land in Ayodhya was to be delivered in 2010.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had stayed the Allahabad High Court verdict that directed division of 2.77 acres of land of the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya into three parts among Hindus, Muslims and the Nirmohi Akhara.

It is interesting to note what the Supreme Court had said on the division of land.

Justice Lodha had observed: “The high court's judgment is something strange. A new dimension has been given by the high court as the decree of partition was not sought by the parties. It was not prayed for by anyone. It has to be stayed. It's a strange order. How can a decree for partition be passed when none of the parties had prayed for it? It's strange. Such kind of decrees cannot be allowed to be in operation. It is a difficult situation now. The position is that the high court verdict has created a litany of litigations.”

The verdict is expected to be out anytime on or before November 17 when the chief justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will demit his office.
