According to reports, the arrested Rohingyas hail from Myanmar's Mondu Thana of Kunkarpara village, and a broker had helped them enter India
Guwahati: Assam has become a transit route for Rohingyas as they make their way to different locations of the country through Assam, and it has been proved on many occasions.
The police have arrested two Rohingyas including a girl in Assam's Hailakandi district on Monday.
The Hailakandi police arrested the duo from Dhalchara village under Lala police station. According to reports, the arrested Rohingyas hail from Myanmar's Mondu Thana of Kunkarpara village, and a broker had helped them enter into India.
Lala police station officer-in-charge Liton Nath said that police had arrested them from a house owned by one Habibur Rahman at Dhalchara village, where they were taking shelter.
"During interrogation, the arrested Rohingyas revealed that they were hailing from Myanmar and they had illegally entered into India with the help of a broker," the police officer said.

The arrested Rohingyas were identified as Abdul Halim and Lubeda Begum. The police official also said that the duo had been booked under various sections of the Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1920 and the Foreigners (Amendment) Act, 2004.
Since January this year, 88 Rohingyas have been arrested by security forces in the North East.

On May 14 last, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) had arrested five Rohingya Muslims from Guwahati railway station, while they were trying to go to Delhi.
The arrested Rohingyas were identified as Makakmyayum Sahenas, MD Zubar, Md Kamal Hussain, Nurul Hakim and Md Kalimula hailing from Myanmar, and security forces had earlier arrested them in Myanmar in 2018.
Security personnel had recovered fake AADHAR cards in their possession.
On April 24, police arrested eight Rohingya women in Mizoram. They had been arrested from an Aizawl bound passenger bus going from southern Assam city of Silchar at Vairenti police check post.
Police had also arrested five Rohingya girls along with a broker at Churaibari area along the Assam-Tripura border last month, while they were trying to enter Assam without valid documents.

On January 21, 30 Rohingyas including 12 minors were arrested by police from a Guwahati-bound passenger bus in Assam's Karimganj district along the Assam-Tripura border.
On February 2, seven Assam bound Rohingya children were arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) from a railway station in Tripura.
