Army jawans kill 1 terrorist in Anantnag, more feared trapped

In an overnight encounter, four terrorists were killed by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Automatic weapons and warlike stores have been recovered from them. 


Anantnag: Security forces on Saturday killed one terrorist during an encounter in the forest area of Nowgam Verinag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The slain militant has been identified as Iqbal Ahmad, a resident of  Nowpora Dooru. His body has been recovered and a search operation is underway. 

The encounter was carried by a team of 19  Rashtriya Rifles, Anantnag police and CRPF jawans. It is believed that three to four terrorists are still trapped there.

Recently, in an overnight encounter, four terrorists were killed by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Automatic weapons and warlike stores have been recovered from them. 

According to the army official, the gunfight started in Panjran area of Lassipora on Thursday when a joint team of Army’s 44 RR and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir launched a cordon and search operation. They had specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
