Images of Hindu gods were burnt as a mark of protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act

Bengaluru: It boils our blood and vexes us to no extent as a few vandals set fire to Hindu gods in the name of anti-CAA protests.

Shocking! How dare these fools burn the photos of Hindu Gods & Goddesses in the name of CAA protest? What the hell CAA has to do with Hindus? Their agenda is different & politicians of & are nurturing this. pic.twitter.com/odDAvYT34T

It has become a trend to hurt, humiliate and harass Hindus gods as a mark of rebellion and protest.

Across the country, vandalism, hooliganism and thuggery have hit the headlines as antisocial elements have resorted to attacking Hindu gods, abusing Hindu symbols and chanting pro-Islam slogans.

The protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act across the country have only proved emphatically that the participants have either not read the act fully or have wantonly abstained from reading, with the obvious intention of creating violence and vandalism in the society.

For a moment, leave that aside. What’s more shocking, saddening and even shameful is that, in the name of anti-CAA protests, it was thugs who masqueraded as champions of free speech and upholders of freedom and equality. But in the end, they have exposed themselves as their hatred and abhorrence towards Hindus are out on display!

All that the CAA is does is to grant citizenship to persecuted minorities of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh who have been residing in India hitherto December 31, 2014. What is essentially a one-time offer to integrate the minorities socially and emotionally with India is being seen as a divisive and communal.

The Act enables around 32000 minority members to become citizens of India.

What hurts anyone is how these antisocial elements take the licence to burn Hindu gods who are revered globally. To protest is fine, but to burn items of faith  and reverence is rank rowdyism.
