Amit Shah holds review meet on Jammu and Kashmir, asks leaders to reach out to people

Home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday (October 8) asked his party leaders to reach out to people and asked them to give power and space to panchs and sarpanches to perform in the polls as the party is eyeing to win 90% BDC seats
 


New Delhi: Home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday (October 8) reviewed the ground situation of Jammu and Kashmir during a meeting with state BJP leaders, just two months after the revocation of Article 370. The meeting was conducted to take stock of the ground situation in Kashmir Valley and discuss preparedness ahead of block development council (BDC) elections slated for October 24. Several prominent leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP were present in the meeting.


Here are the key highlights of Amit Shah's speech:

1. Shah directed the BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir to put all possible efforts to restore normalcy and peace in the Valley. 

2. He asked the leaders to support administration towards reopening of schools and other educational institutions in the region and start outreach programs to bring people at ease.

3. The BJP president said that government employees must be brought back to work immediately.

4. Shah asked party leaders to give power and space to panchs and sarpanches to perform in the polls as the party is eyeing to win 90% BDC seats.
