Air Force Day 2020: Rafales steal the show as Air Chief asserts IAF will safeguard nation’s interests

The Indian Air Force celebrated its 88th anniversary 
 

Bengaluru: The Indian Air Force is celebrating its 88th anniversary on October 8. Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inspected the parade. The celebrations took place at IAF station Hindon and CDS General Bipin Rawat, along with three service chiefs, was present at the venue.

 

With the induction of new platforms as well as training, the IAF has emerged as a dominant regional force that has proven its capabilities from time to time, most recently, with the Balakot strikes that destroyed the terror hideouts in Pakistan, across the line of control.

The main attraction of the IAF Day parade is Rafale, underlining the importance of which, IAF chief RKS Bhadauria had said - “Integration of Rafales brings in a platform which is way ahead and would give us an edge and capability to strike first and deep.”

“As we enter the 89th year, the IAF is undergoing a transformational change. We are entering an era which will redefine where we employ aerospace power and conduct integrated multi-domain operations,” said IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria.

 

“This year has indeed been an unprecedented one. As COVID19 spread across the globe, our nation's response was firm. The tenacity and resolve of our air warriors ensured that IAF continued to retain its capability to undertake full-scale operations throughout this period,” said IAF Chief.

In his address, Air Chief marshal said, “I want to assure the nation that the Indian Air Force will evolve and be ever ready to safeguard our nation's sovereignty and interests in all circumstances.”
