Ghaziabad: Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman flew the MiG-21 Bison during the Air Force Day 2019 flypast along with two other Mirage 2000s flown by IAF pilots who flew during the Balakot strike missions.
3 Mirage 2000 aircraft & 2 Su-30MKI fighter aircraft flew in the ‘Avenger formation’. Planes are being flown by pilots who took part in Balakot air strike.
Indian Air Force (IAF) is celebrating 87th anniversary on Air Force Day 2019 at Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. Army Chief General Bipin Rawat and IAF Chief, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria present at the event.
Air Force Chief on Tuesday said, Indian Air Force is grateful for the nation's trust and confidence in them. “On behalf of all air warriors, I assure the nation of our sacred resolve, defending the sovereignty of our skies and safeguarding our national interest at all cost,” he added.
