Days after ABVP staged a protest over violence that took place on January 5 at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi, the saffron organisation has once again witnessed an attack on them. This time in Kerala.

Kottayam: Members of the Students' Federation of India (SFI), a Communist outfit, on Monday (January 20), brutally attacked workers of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at the SVR NSS College Vazhoor at Kottayam in Kerala.

Taking to Twitter, the ABVP students' organisation posted images of its injured workers out of whom one was grievously injured.

According to the ABVP, SFI has been trying to create ruckus in the campus for a while after seeing the saffron party's organisation growing in popularity. The attack comes after the ABVP held a conference at the campus recently which is said to have attracted significant participation.

Rattled by students’ overwhelming response to ABVP college unit conference, SFI goons attacked ABVP karyakartas in Vazhoor NSS College, Kottayam.

Be it JNU or Kerala, these attacks by Left goons attest to the fact that when they cannot convince students, they beat them up! pic.twitter.com/mJ3ub09yw2

The ABVP accusing the SFI comes days after a massive clash between the Left and saffron student organisations at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi.

At JNU, the Left is accused of initiating the cycle of violence that culminated in a massive brawl on January 5. However, the event that took place on January 5 is still unclear as of this moment.

Of course, Kerala has witnessed several clashes between the Left and the Saffron. The supression of other political ideologies when the Left assumes power is a worldwide phenomenon and Kerala is undoubtedly keeping with the trend.
