Abhinandan returns: Indian connection of Pakistani woman, who escorted IAF pilot

Fariha Bugti is Pakistan's Foreign Service officer and is in charge of Indian affairs. When Abhinandan Varthaman returned to India via the Wagha border, he was accompanied by this woman, whom most people thought to be his wife.

New Delhi: On Friday night, the Indian Air Force's Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman returned to India. There have been talks regarding the woman, who was standing with him during his. She is most seen during conflicts between India and Pakistan. The name of this woman is Fariha Bugti. She is Pakistan's Foreign Service officer and is in charge of Indian affairs. This lady was also seen with the family of Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was arrested in Pakistan on the charge of espionage.

Wing Commander Abhinandan returned to India last night via the Wagha Border. He was accompanied by this woman, whom most people thought to be his wife. But later, it was known that she is a Pakistani officer, who handles Indian cases. This lady stayed with him for some time and then went back to her country. 

Bugti is an officer of the foreign ministries in Pakistan and she is the director of the department of Indian Affairs.

Bugti is an FSP officer, who is equal to the IFS officer of India. Shortly before, Bugti was also seen with Kulbhushan Jadhav's family when he was in Pakistan's jail. Last year, during Jadhav's meeting with his mother and wife in Islamabad, she was present there. 

Wing Commander Abhinandan was taken under Pakistan Army's custody after our MiG-21 crashed with the F-16 aircraft of Pakistan, which was trying to infiltrate into the Indian border four days ago.

Following the crash, he was rescued in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, but the Pakistani Army had arrested him. After India's growing pressure along with the Geneva Convention guidelines, Pakistan's Prime Minister, Imran Khan, decided to return Wing Commander Abhinandan on Thursday. There was also international pressure on Pakistan, due to the Geneva Treaty, to return the IAF pilot.
