Actor Rajshree Deshpande is doing her bit to help those who can’t meet their expenses

Bengaluru: Actor Rajshree Deshpande is a very popular actress. Off it too, her popularity is the same. That is because she believed in helping others and offering a helping hand to others.

She is working overtime to help farmers, women and transgenders under the NGO 'Nabhangan'.

Even during lockdown, she focused her attention on kids and their school so that they don’t miss out on education.

Here is what inspired her to help others.

“I am from Marathwada in Aurangabad. I belong to a middleclass family. I have been fond of traveling and reading since childhood. But due to not having enough money for traveling, I saw the area around Marathwada traveling by bus and train. During this journey, I talked to many villagers and got a chance to know their problems. My father was a farmer. Even today many of our relatives live in villages and do farming. That is why I have closely watched the lives of the farmers and felt their problems. It was here that inspired me to work for the farmers,” she says as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.

She adds that she has been working for the last five years tirelessly for these people.

She adds, “For the last five years, I have been working for the welfare of farmers in Pandhari and Mathgarh villages near Marathwada. Before the lockdown, I planned to free the crops of these farmers from locusts. The farmers here were saving their crops from locusts when lockdown was imposed and unemployment increased as the work stopped in the villages. Then the first thing that came to my mind was the thought of raising ration for the farmers, because many farmers here did not even have the food for two days. I could not do this work alone in the village. So I collected volunteers from 30 villages located around Marathwada and with their help, ration was extended to the people of these 30 villages”.

In this way, she has been a boon to those who are unable to meet their expenses.
