Alexandre Aja is directing the film, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Partners.
Supported with a mobile application, audiences will get to vote during the cinema screening to decide which characters will do what at pivotal moments in the movie.
According to the publication, the haunted house experience will have a different running time, ending and plot for most audience groups.
Flanagan is also serving as the creator for the sophomore season of "The Haunting of the Hill House", titled "The Haunting of Bly Manor".
