How to protect yourself from Dengue during monsoon season

Dengue is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes mosquito. Some common symptoms may include high fever and body pain. Here are some precautions you can take during monsoon season to prevent mosquito bites.

Dengue is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes mosquito. To prevent it and find a suitable cure, it’s essential to recognize the symptoms early. In dengue, patients can experience fever and body ache. Joint, head and muscle pain are also common symptoms of dengue. 
 

Some other symptoms may include, skin rash, severe stomach pain, bleeding from the nose or gums, bruising, rapid breathing, and loss of body control.

Dengue fever does not spread directly from person to person. It can only be transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. 

To prevent dengue:

Aedes mosquitoes prefer to breed in stagnant water around your home. Hence, it's important to prevent water from collecting indoors and outdoors. To prevent mosquito bites, apply mosquito repellent cream.

Sleep under a mosquito net to prevent mosquito bites. Wear long sleeves and pants during the day and evening to minimize skin exposure. Keep windows closed in the evening to prevent mosquitoes from entering indoors.
