The weekend is here which means it is time to experiment with something new and prepare a delightful dish for your family. Aloo Cutlet, a beloved Indian snack, is very easy to make. Let’s explore this recipe for making aloo cutlet in minutes.
Ingredients you are going to need:
• 4 medium-sized potatoes
• 1 chopped onion
• 2 chopped green chillies
• 1/2 cup boiled peas
• 1/4 cup chopped coriander
• 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
• 1 teaspoon red chili powder
• 1 teaspoon garam masala
• Salt to taste
• Breadcrumbs
• Oil
Follow these instructions:
Step 1- Boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker. Once boiled, allow them to cool, then peel and mash them in a mixing bowl.
Step 2- After mashing the potatoes, add finely chopped onions, green chillies, boiled peas, chopped coriander, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix the ingredients together nicely. You can use a spatula for this purpose, or you can simply use your hands.
Step 3- Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into an oval-shaped cutlet. Make cutlets with the remaining mixture.
Step 4- Spread breadcrumbs on a plate. Take each cutlet and coat it with breadcrumbs. Make sure it is evenly coated.
Step 5- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is adequately hot, place the cutlets into the pan one-by-one. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crisp.
Step 6- After frying the cutlets, place them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Serve the hot and crispy cutlets with your favourite mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
