New Delhi: While many believe global warming is sham, many verified conservation organisations have often said that we have only 12 years to reverse the effects of climate change.
According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) by 2050, we will be consuming 73 per cent more meat than we do today and the brunt will be born by the planet's fauna, of course. Created using plant sources, the meatless or 'artificial' meat, is touted to be a notch better than your usual soya nuggets or chaap. But, despite wanting to do better for their body and planet, many non-vegetarians are sceptical about the plant meat. After all, if it looks like meat, doesn't mean that it tastes like meat. This is where clean meat startups such as Good Dot come in.
"We use a proprietary technology that turns grain and plant proteins into a texture that looks and tastes like meat. This technology combines heat, cooling, and pressure to turn plant-proteins into the same fibrous structures that you’d find in animal proteins," claims their website, that also shares recipes on how to use this plant meat to recreate your non-veg favourites. And, by the looks of the customer reviews, it does taste like meat.
Not only this, but you can also take your pick from mock duck, mock fish fillet, pepper salami, kebabs and more also available in the market by plant-based gourmet meat brand Veggie Champ. With similar brands such as Vegeta Gold, Vezlay, Vegitein and restaurant such as Greenr Cafe in New Delhi, plant-based meat is on the rise.
