Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently took to social media to share his exhilarating experience of driving through Mumbai's undersea tunnel for the first time. The Bollywood icon described the experience as a marvel, expressing his delight at the unique journey.
Bachchan shared a video on his Instagram account, documenting his inaugural drive through the coastal undersea tunnel. In his caption, he wrote, 'Went first time in the TUNNEL - Enter before Haji Ali and out Halfway to Marine Drive .. a Marvel !!' The video quickly garnered viral attention, accumulating thousands of views within minutes.
Fans flooded the comments section with admiration and curiosity. One fan praised Bachchan, stating, 'Sir, 'Marvel' Nahin, Aapke Muh se ADHBHOODH acha lagta hai' (Sir, 'Marvel' doesn't do justice, your expression of wonder is better). The undersea tunnel is a prominent feature of Mumbai's newly inaugurated Coastal Road, connecting Marine Drive to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Stretching over 10.8 kilometers, the project includes a two-kilometer tunnel between Priyadarshini Park and Marine Drive. Launched in phases, the first phase was inaugurated on March 11 by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar.
Construction on the Coastal Road project commenced on October 13, 2018, with an estimated cost of ₹12,721 crore. The initiative aims to ease traffic congestion and provide a smoother commute for Mumbai residents.
In terms of his professional endeavors, Bachchan recently appeared in the dystopian action film 'Ganapath,' alongside Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon. While the movie didn't fare well at the box office, Bachchan has exciting projects in the pipeline. He is set to star in the multilingual sci-fi action film 'Kalki 2898 AD,' alongside Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.
