Though Ajay Devgn's latest release Total Dhamaal features two remixes of Bollywood classics, the actor explains why he is not too fond of remake of new songs.
New Delhi: Even though his latest release Total Dhamaal carries remixes of two old Bollywood classics Paisa Yeh Paisa from Subhash Ghai’s Karz (1980) and Tu Mungda Mungda from Raj Sippy’s 1977 flick Inkaar, Ajay Devgn is personally not very fond of remixes.
Talking to My Nation about it, he said, “Too many remixes are happening everywhere. I personally am not very happy with it. Being from the older generation, I don’t know what you all feel but today, where are those kinds of songs which were there in the 70s?” Hinting at a lack of good songwriters in the industry, the actor added, “Today if I want to get a song recorded, which has a very deep meaning lyrics, I have to really think who to get it written from. Also, when I interact with the younger generation, I feel they are thinking very differently. Their thought process and way of emoting is different, even though emotions are the same.”

During the conversation, Ajay Devgn revealed that his 7-year-old son Yug is a fan of rap music, the lyrics of which he often finds difficult to follow. “My 7-year-old son remembers and sings all kinds of rap songs on earth. If I put it on YouTube, he starts singing. How does he remember the lyrics? I don’t even understand the lines,” laughed the actor.
Not just the lack of fresh music, the actor-producer also expressed that good children’s films are not made in India and hence there is a demand for Hollywood flicks. The Raju Chacha actor said, “When I watch a kids’ Hollywood film or an animation film or a comedy, I watch it with my son. When people here make films for kids, they are so stupid. They think our kids are very stupid. Elders can’t sit and watch the film because the sensibility does not match. And kids these days are very smart, they know more than us. That is where we lack. I feel when we are making kids for films, it should be made in a way so that it targets everybody. We can’t be that stupid. That’s why we are watching Hollywood films.”
