Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been ruling the headlines for her recent release Fanney Khan starring opposite Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, thinks that housewives are the biggest CEOs in the country.
The 1994 Miss World made this statement during the 10th season of the singing reality show Indian Idol.
The cast of Fanney Khan made an appearance in this weekend’s episode of the show for promoting the film.
She was asked about her opinion on housewives post the performance of a contestant named Indira Das.
"The housewives are the biggest CEOs in the country and they should be given utmost respect and appreciation in the country. I doff my hat off with full respect and appreciation to all the housewives of the country and the world," said Aishwarya.
After hearing Aishwarya's views, popular composer-singer Vishal Dadlani, who is one of the judges in Indian Idol, said, “Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being one of the most beautiful women in the world is just like any other housewife. As I remember on one of my music world tours when Amitabh Bachchanji had invited me and the whole crew to his suite for a dinner party, the world's most beautiful lady Aishwarya Rai Bachchan served dinner with her own hands to each and every member of the crew."
Fanney Khan, which released on 3 August has been well received by the critics but reportedly failed to make a mark at the box office.
