New Delhi: Not Mumbai, but social media is the new city of dreams. Author, columnist and screenwriter Advaita Kala knows.

With over 49,000 followers and a blue badge of the Twitter elite, Kala has seen the good, bad and ugly side of being a social media celebrity. From getting over 600 retweets in two hours to single-handedly sparking nationwide debates over Twitter founder Jack Dorsey's conduct, the author shares how she maintains her sanity amongst the clamour on social media.

"I have said certain things about certain things...and then there were these articles written. There was a time when Jack Dorsey had held the Brahminical Tyranny poster and I found that very offensive. I thought that it targeted a specific community of people and I commented on it. Subsequently, that generated debates and articles were written on it. But I said what I had to say and I stand by it. I think it was in very poor taste," she says.

However, she does clarify that there is a specific code of social media conduct that she follows. "No abuse, no personal attacks or I am out of there. I don't engage in these online arguments that go on and on," she says.
